Contests and Opportunities for Arkansas 4-H and Arkansas FFA members at AYE:
To compete at AYE in any capacity, a student must be an Arkansas 4-H or Arkansas FFA member between the ages of 5 and 21 (please see the AYE Rulebook for more information). Our goal is to continue adding contests, opportunities and pathways to careers and education for Arkansas students. New to AYE? Here are some contests to get involved in!

Market Animal Shows:
What: Market Wether Lambs, Market Wether Goats, Market Barrows and Market Steers
When: Show on Wednesday and Thursday at AYE
Who: Any Arkansas 4-H or FFA member who properly registers \
Cost: $50/entry
Breeding Animal Shows:
What: Breeding Heifers, Bulls, Breeding Ewes, Breeding Gilts, and Breeding Does
When: Show on Tuesday and Wednesday at AYE
Who: Any Arkansas 4-H or FFA member who properly registers
Cost: $50/entry
Agricultural Mechanics Competition:
What: Any and all agricultural mechanics structures built solely by 4-H and FFA members
When: Show on Monday at AYE
Who: Any Arkansas 4-H or FFA member who properly registers
Cost: $50/entry
Showmanship Contest:
What: Showmanship Contest for all 4 livestock species at AYE
Who: Any Arkansas 4-H or FFA student with a livestock or ag mechanics project entered at AYE
When: Tuesday at AYE
Cost: $0/entry
Skillathon Contest:
What: A written and visual test of a student’s knowledge of animal husbandry and agriculture
Who: Any Arkansas 4-H or FFA student with a livestock or ag mechanics project entered at AYE
When: Tuesday at AYE

Fitting Contests:
What: A display of a team of students’ knowledge of presenting an animal. Available for cattle, sheep, and goats!
Who: Any Arkansas 4-H or FFA student with a livestock or ag mechanics project entered at AYE
When: Monday and Tuesday at AYE
Cost: $0/entry
Scholarship Opportunities:
What: Scholarships for trade schools, universities/colleges, or self-taught options
Who: Varies for scholarship requirements, must be a registered AYE exhibitor
When: Applications can be found on the AYE Facebook in August(ish)

AYE Ambassador Team:
What: A yearlong leadership program for AYE students 16-21 to learn about Arkansas agriculture and leadership in the state
Who: Any AYE exhibitor between the age of 16 and 21.
When: Yearlong from March-March

Educational Clinics:
What: An array of clinics from sponsors and supporters of AYE to help students feed and take care of their animals!
Who: Anyone
